Century Series Fighters II

The Century Series of U.S. fighter and fighter/bomber aircraft was the most significant series of advanced combat aircraft in military aviation history. It included the highest flying, first supersonic and first nuclear capable jet fighter/attack aircraft. No other aircraft series has influenced modern air combat to a greater degree or established more aviation firsts than the historic Century Series. Beginning with the North American F-100 Super Sabre, America’s first functional supersonic fighter, that first flew in 1954, to the F-101 Voodoo, the delta-wing F-102 Delta Dagger and F-106 Delta Dart, the combat proven F-105 Thunderchief and the record setting F-104 Starfighter, the Century  series was the mainstay of U.S. air power for decades. Artist/illustrator Mads Bangso captured the entire Century Series in this dynamic depiction of aviation history.
